Bradley Roberts explains how Ulster Rugby made his ‘dream come true’ as hooker tries to show Sharks what they’ve lost

Despite all the qualities required for Ulster’s Bradley Roberts to make his first professional start in last weekend’s win over Glasgow, persistence was perhaps the most needed attribute.

The 25-year-old has had many times in the past where he has been forced to wonder if his rugby dream has probably passed him.

He had previously had a stint in the Welsh Premiership, where his paternal ancestry lies, when the desired contract with his hometown of Natal Sharks in Durban failed to materialize, while his stint with Rainey Old Boys in the second All -Ireland League division had already been going on since 2017 by the time it caught the attention of the Ulster setup.
