Brighton star linked to Arsenal leaves big clue to future ambitions, Aston Villa considering Champions League forward

The Seagulls are entering the game in high spirits following their Premier League win over Leicester City last weekend, and hope to keep up the positive momentum by reserving their place in the next round of the Cup.

Brighton last faced Swansea in 2018, and beat their opponents 4-1 thanks to a brace from Glenn Murray and one goal each for Anthony Knockaert and Jurgen Locadia.

Speaking after their big win over the Foxes, Brighton boss Graham Potter hailed Marc Cucurella’s summer signing and said: “(I am) really impressed with his personality and character and the way he is settled down.

“He’s a top professional and he’s played a lot of La Liga games. His attributes are there to see. He offers us something different on the left side, which means we can play Solly (March) on the right .

“We lacked balance against Everton and I think he provides that with his natural left foot which we missed when Solly was injured.

“He’s a fantastic addition for us and adds to the team. It was a good start at home. Two Premier League matches and two wins … maybe he’s our lucky charm.
