Spurs have already secured three signings this summer and continue to make plenty of waves as they plan to splash more cash in the current transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur may have already confirmed the arrival of three new signings this summer, but steps have already been taken to ensure more players come through the doors ahead of next season.
Spurs remain in the hunt for a new winger, centre-back and striker before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, and director of football Fabio Paratici is already on the deal after latest reports revealed he had ‘flew to Italy’ to engage in transfer talks.
According Di MarzioParatici has flown to Rome to engage in talks over a Serie A star he ‘likes’, while seeking to find potential suitors for two disgraced Tottenham stars.
According to the report from Italy, Paratici traveled to his homeland to meet Roma transfer chief Tiago Pinto in a bid to convince the Italians to part ways with long-time admirer Nicolo Zaniolo. The 22-year-old had eight goals and nine assists in 42 games in all competitions last season as Roma finished 6th in Serie A and won the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Zaniolo was noted as one of Italy’s top talents and hugely impressed by Jose Mourinho in his first season in charge of the Stadio Olimpico side. As well as operating on the right wing, the Italian can also be used as an attacking midfielder, although with Conte’s preferred 3-4-3 formation he will have to compete on the outside.

But it’s not just income Paratici is looking to drive negotiations forward with during his time in Italy, with Di Marzio also detailing that he’s looking to try and offload disgraced duo Bryan Gil and Joe Rodon, as Spurs watch to bolster that transfer budget with player sales.
Gil only moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer but struggled to carve out a starting spot under Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte during the first half of last season, in which he didn’t recorded just one assist in 20 games in all competitions, before securing a loan move to Valencia for the rest of the campaign in the January transfer window.
The Spaniard may have registered only one assist in 17 games for the La Liga outfit but he performed much better and even became a fan favourite. However, although it was reported that Conte was set to see the 21-year-old back in pre-season, Paratici has now scheduled talks with Sampdoria over a potential loan deal for the winger.
And Rodon’s future also hangs in the balance, although it will be less of a surprise if he leaves north London this summer, having dropped down the pecking order of Tottenham’s defensive options last summer, despite the fact that Conte plays with three at the back.
The centre-back made just 10 appearances in all competitions last season and as a result, a departure is now on the cards this summer, albeit on a temporary basis, as Spurs are still keen to keep him on their books. And according to reports in Italy, the Welshman could be used to sweeten a deal with Roma to sign Zaniolo.
Mourinho has been linked with raids on his former clubs during this year’s transfer window and could be swayed by the idea of bringing in Rodon on loan next season, who is said to be a big fan of the Welshman having overseen his transfer from Swansea City two years ago.
