gastronomy and entertainment at the Massif Courmayeur

There are two restaurants on-site, the Cervo Rosso and Chétif steakhouse, which is exclusively for hotel guests – but nothing can beat the chalet on the slopes, La Loge du Massif. A ski butler is ready to help you with your boots at the entrance, and you’ll be treated to incredible views of the Alps as well as decadent traditional cuisine from the region. For a snack or an aperitif between two ski sessions, a meal with a view always wins my vote.

For lunch we found a lovely lodge (Rifugio Maison Vieille) right next to the beginners slope – where I was most of the time – which served traditional food including polenta, fondue and various specialties regional. It was so good and so comfortable that we went there every day for lunch. In the evening, if you are looking for a fine dining experience (and I think you should be), Courmayeur has its own Michelin-starred restaurant, Petit Royal, which serves mouth-watering traditional cuisine less than 10 minutes from Le Massif.

How to conclude an evening after a full day of skiing, relaxing and having a delicious dinner? At the Bar Del Gigante on the ground floor of Le Massif, cocktail in hand, in front of the fireplace.
