Trendy and popular village pub near Somerset under new ownership


A popular village pub just across the Somerset border is to be taken over by new owners.

The Northey Arns in the village of Box, near Bath, has long been a favorite with visitors and locals alike, many in the music industry due to the recording studios not far away.

Local beer company Butcombe pubs, which owns many of the hip gastro pubs in Somerset, have taken the Northey into their stable and promise to make it as good as ever.

The Butcombe pubs are owned by the Liberation group who also bought The Rising Sun from Backwell.

The Northey has always been popular with travellers, it is just on the main road in Box and has a large garden.

Box is a beautiful village on the outskirts of Bath, the pub is steeped in history and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The pub serves food all day with lots of good old fashioned pub classics. Behind the bar you will find many award-winning Butcombe ales and ciders, as well as a wide range of wines and cocktails.

With 13 en suite bedrooms, The Northey is the perfect place for a rural retreat, family break or staycation and for exploring Bath and the surrounding Wiltshire countryside.

A haven for families, walkers, cyclists and locals, The Northey has a large beer garden, extensive children’s play area and huge car park.

The Northey is dog-friendly, child-friendly and perfectly located for visiting attractions such as Lacock Abbey, the Roman Baths at Bath and Longleat Safari Park.

The new owner is expected to secure the future of this great old pub in the near future.
